THE MADEBOARD GUIDE
A clearer day
at the workbench.
Practical help for your production board.
Getting started
- Open Madeboard from Apps in your Shopify admin.
- Let your orders load, or choose Refresh orders.
- Open a job to see every item and its personalisation details.
- Choose Start making when work begins, then Mark as done when it is ready.
To move an order back, open View job and choose its production status. Change your studio name in Settings to use it on printed sheets.
Orders & refreshes
Which orders appear?
Madeboard imports unfulfilled items from orders in Shopify’s standard 60-day access window. Partially fulfilled items show the remaining quantity. Cancelled and fully fulfilled orders leave the board after a successful refresh.
How long does Madeboard keep orders?
Orders that leave the board after a successful refresh expire after 30 days. An order also expires after 90 days without a successful import of that order. Expired records and their production statuses are removed from Madeboard; this does not delete orders or original artwork from Shopify. See the Privacy policy for cleanup and backup details.
Why is an order missing?
Clear your search and filters, then refresh. Check that the order is recent, has unfulfilled items and has not been cancelled. If a refresh fails, retry after the error clears; the displayed board may show older information.
Does Done fulfil the order?
No. Done is a production status for the whole order. It does not edit, ship or fulfil the Shopify order. Complete fulfilment in Shopify separately.
Do order changes arrive automatically?
Madeboard refreshes when you open the app. Use Refresh orders while working to bring in new orders and changes. Your production statuses are preserved.
Why am I asked to open Shopify?
Your production board uses the store connection supplied by Shopify. Open Shopify admin, then Apps → Madeboard. A direct website visit cannot connect your store.
Artwork & printing
Where do personalisation details come from?
Madeboard reads the custom properties attached to each Shopify order item. Your product options or upload tool must save the name, font, colour and artwork link with the item. Madeboard does not add these fields to your storefront.
Why is an artwork preview unavailable?
Madeboard recognises supported public HTTPS file links in item properties. The original file host controls access. A private, expired or removed file might not preview; check the original upload or open its link.
How do I print a job?
Open View job, then Print sheet. The sheet includes quantities, SKUs, personalisation and artwork references. Use your browser’s print options to print or save a PDF.
Customer privacy requests
When a customer requests their data through your store, Shopify can notify Madeboard. In Settings → Customer privacy requests, choose Refresh requests, download the data and provide it to the customer through your normal secure process. Then choose Mark response sent. Complete the response within 30 days of receipt.
This feature remains available without an active subscription. The export contains matching order data currently stored by Madeboard; it can be empty if no matching data remains. Keep downloaded copies secure.
Customer deletion requests remove the matching item details when Shopify delivers the request. Store deletion requests remove the store’s saved Madeboard data. Uninstalling disconnects the app; Shopify sends a separate store deletion request afterwards.
